{"id":2293,"date":"2020-12-27T21:58:34","date_gmt":"2020-12-27T21:58:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bicester.odg.org.uk\/wordpress\/?p=2293"},"modified":"2021-02-17T21:42:33","modified_gmt":"2021-02-17T21:42:33","slug":"kirtlington-bletchingdon-weston-and-islip-virtual-christmas-social-21-december-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bicester.odg.org.uk\/wordpress\/index.php\/2020\/12\/27\/kirtlington-bletchingdon-weston-and-islip-virtual-christmas-social-21-december-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Kirtlington, Bletchingdon, Weston and Islip Virtual Christmas Social 21 December 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>It was great to welcome fourteen ringers representing five\ntowers to the 2020 Christmas social tonight, including very welcome returns\nfrom two of our dispersed ringers Helen and Ellie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notable welcomes also to Kathryn and Barbara Summers with their\ncanine companions Dilly and Rufus who joined us specially for this occasion, also\nthat Sally from Islip was able to participate in the video chat and Ringing\nRoom for the whole session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After some Carol melodies in Ringing Room we split into four\nteams representing Bletchingdon, Weston, Islip and Kirtlington for a quiz in\nfour rounds featuring a range of bellringing and seasonal questions, as well as\na Christmas music round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The result was closely contested between Islip (8 points)\nand Kirtlington (9 points) with Bletchingdon (7 points) a close third and\nWeston a bit further back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally we returned to ringing room and rang some rounds on\n12 followed by carol melodies and a brave attempt at a multi part version of O\nCome All Ye Faithful. Rufus gave a very touching accompaniment of his own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone. Our next practice of 2021 will be at 8pm on Monday 4th January.
