{"id":1399,"date":"2016-05-31T12:14:05","date_gmt":"2016-05-31T12:14:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bicesterbranch.org.uk\/?p=1399"},"modified":"2021-02-17T16:16:39","modified_gmt":"2021-02-17T16:16:39","slug":"bank-holiday-firsts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bicester.odg.org.uk\/wordpress\/index.php\/2016\/05\/31\/bank-holiday-firsts\/","title":{"rendered":"Bank holiday Firsts 30th May 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Many congratulations to 3 of our branch members who scored &#8220;firsts&#8221; in a quarter peal at Bicester on Monday 30th May (Spring Bank Holiday):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Anne Martin: 1st Quarter Peal (and it was &#8220;inside&#8221; too!)<\/li>\n<li>Steve Vickars: 1st Quarter Peal<\/li>\n<li>Jeremy Adams 1st Quarter Peal as conductor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After a nervous start (fully expected given 3 &#8220;firsts&#8221; being attempted) the ringing settled and we managed some good striking throughout the quarter peal. There were a few little hiccups but nothing that couldn&#8217;t be fixed. Anne wondered &#8220;is that it?&#8221; at the end &#8211; such had been the level of concentration she achieved. A fabulous achievement from all and a good step up in their respective ringing career ladders.
