Held at Weston-on-the-Green, a day after the installation of the first woman Archbishop of Canterbury, March’s Branch Practice was a sell-out! Twenty ringers came from across the Branch (and beyond!) to join in one of the friendliest practices, complete with refreshments. Seven towers were represented – Weston (obviously), Launton, Ludgershall, Bicester, Islip (prize given for most ringers – seven), Somerton (including two from Middleton Stoney) and Steeple Aston. We rang a variety from a touch of Grandsire Doubles to call changes – something for everyone and a great chance to meet and support other ringers. And, as if all that weren’t enough, we had the excitement of watching the bells ringing on the CCTV screen. Wow!
Next practice is on Wednesday 22 April at Charlton-on-Otmoor at 7.30pm – do come along especially if you haven’t rung there before as the bells are easy-going.
